Elorac Paule

Iam so thrilled to see  Lil’ Frenchie elo‘s work at Commune Utopia!

Elo’s work ranges from seductive, mysterious, sensual, sexy, passionate, sad, restrained, bound, hidden, loving, raw and real. Elo evokes feeling with her work it is palatable. You can feel the emotions she portrays in each piece. Her passion comes roaring through as clearly as the random still calm shots do.

Elo always manages to stir feelings and emotions in me with her work.

Come on by and see how her incredibly beautiful talent affects you.

Commune Utopia hosts an opening party Saturday January 21st @ 1pm slt.

Here is your teleport.

“The delicacy of the female beauty captured in “A Ray of Light” belies the strong contrasts that create a sense of something almost too perfect to belong to the real world– thus belonging imminently to SL. “ taken from Yoru’s announcement at CU.

Spilling Juel Tones

31876476922_cf5f283bd1_b

If you haven’t Heard of Suzen Juel Resistance in second life then you live under a virtual rock. Suzen is a Second Life musician icon she has been rocking the grid since 2004.

Listening to her original lyrics you get a sense of some of the wild times she has experienced in her life and our virtual world Second Life. Suzen’s talented guitar style and lyrics are wonderful to hear she slides and rhythmically thumps her accompaniment as she belts out her songs.

Suzen also paints in her real life. She spills her talented thoughts and mind twists onto canvas expressing her thoughts artistically. Currently She has received a LEA grant of a sim to build paint express herself on.

I had the opportunity to ask Suzen a few Questions…

  • Suzen you are obviously passionate about your music and Art.
  • What would you say is your main motivator to create?

“My main motivator to create is a push of thought that is so powerful it can’t be ignored. The logical reason however is…(like Dylan once said, I don’t like the songs I hear so I wrote my own)….I don’t like a lot of things I see around me….blank walls, silent rooms, no color….So I wanted to create things that make my eyes happy, songs that make someone…somewhere…feel what I’m feeling. We all express what is inside of us in different ways. Some people are vocally expressive, others express through fixing things, or creating lavish meals, or simply cleaning a space around them…..it all has a purpose. I become overwhelmed with an emotion of sorts and it comes out through color or sound.”

  • Have you found therapeutic or mental relief from your expressive music writing or artistic expression?

“Art and Music ARE my built in therapy….it puts me in my Zen Mode. Listening to others music, seeing what colors others create with their words, their emotions…..It’s almost as if the ‘Creator’ of the human race gave me art/music as my ‘release valve’ knowing that my mind would be in constant overdrive….it IS my release, and I’m thankful and blessed that others find some sort of beautiful chaos or unusual calm in what I do.

(It goes both ways )”

  • Who was your most memorable musical influence?

“My most memorable influence……there isn’t a ‘most memorable’ there are a series of them, but mostly my family. There was always music on in our house and if there was no music there was music being made. My grandpa Jule played several instruments and hand made my first guitar. His brother made expensive and beautiful violins. My Grandpa Jule also played the accordion, harmonica and anything that made a sound. My parents had this friend….NEAL was his name and he played the mouth harp…I was fascinated with it……Those were my influences….people who just created sounds and pictures. My grandpa was also a painter and a cartoonist. My mother played guitar, organ, banjo and other instruments…..Music surrounded me.”

  • Who was the Artist that moved you to the point of wanting to create your art?

“I’ll have to say Picasso was absolutely one of my favorites. I didn’t know much about art, I still don’t…but my eyes always roamed to the Bold Jewel Tones, Bright Screaming Colors and my mind would put them together like jigsaw puzzles…forming shapes and colors in my mind.

I realized in my late teens that I often drew the colors and shapes of sounds, and the colors and shapes were much like Picasso (this was before I really even looked at Picasso’s work) those colors were just ‘mine’ I wanted them all around me

So I started painting them (later in my late 20’s). I was very good in my High School art classes but didn’t realize THEN that it would be something I would always gravitate towards. It was so natural to me to create things that I never once thought of it as ‘being an artist’ until I was in my late 20’s…..so strange to think back on it like that!”

  •  What got you motivated to apply for a LEA grant?

“The LEA Grant. My friend ‘Dove’ suggested I apply for a LEA Grant…to which I responded ‘What IS a LEA Grant’….

When she told me, I said ‘Oooo noooo, I can’t do that. I wouldn’t even know HOW to do that..both applying OR doing an art install, I’d be lost’.

I applied on a spur of the moment impulse several weeks afterwards and then forgot about it completely. Several Months Later I receive an email that they were looking through the names etc…and a few weeks after that I was asked if I’d be interested in moving forward with an Art Install. As nervous as I was…..I thought ‘no better way to learn than just JUMP in’ and that’s exactly how it happened. I went in without any well written plan and decided to do the LEA Sim the same way I do any kind of art…I just begin and let it take me where it takes me…..So what people see on the LEA4 Sim ‘Spilling JueL Tones’ is a ‘spillage’ of sorts of ……a different kind of ‘me’…the kind on the inside. Without realizing what I was doing (which is almost always how my art or music happens) it turns out I built most all of it around various lyrics in my songs, thoughts that scare the LIVING HELL out of me, symbolic images of how various things represent themselves in my mind. I can’t get into each little piece and thought and fear and beautiful shape….but I can say, some of my insides NO DOUBT spilled out on that sim.”

  • What was the “thing” that brought Spilled Juel Tones to life?

“What brings it to life…………..is the messages I get from those that went to see it………….THAT’s the LIFE it brings, it’s the life it gives……….”

“Looking forward to the First of 2 or 3 shows happening on Jan 14th…..That’s when all the life really comes together!”

Rocksuriya’s work photo by Owl

Commune Utopia is featuring the artistry of Rocksuriya.

‘Artificial Sasquatch Diagnosis’

“A study in the virtual male form”

Rock tastefully shows off his physique in a erotic sensual way. The Real life look he acquires through his use of lighting and shadow. The way the light plays on the pixels brings to life the still forms, This exhibit is sure to tantalize your senses as it so softly eases the eye into appreciation of the male form.

I really love his play of light and flesh each piece draws your eye in making you imagine what you don’t see. Rock’s work brings a smile to your face and tantalization to your imagination.

Art in the park series for December 2016 @ Holly Kai.

I am excited to be exhibiting my photos in Holly Kai’s Art in the park series for the month of December.

It was hard to choose photos to exhibit. I thought most of my photos were self indulgent Topless Tuesday shots. There are a lot of those but I was happily surprised.

I do have sim’s  visited and many other photos too.

Two photographers I have admired a long tome and followed on flickr will be there

Caitlin Tobias and Blues Rocker.

Caitlin explained a bit more about her exhibit on her blog

Cait’s World.

I love that her exhibit lets you play with the pose!

Caitlin’s poster for her exhibit

Apparently Caitlin Tobias and I were quick at setting up as of this morning no one else had their exhibits up so they will be a surprise.

Kayly Iali and Kody Meyers fill out the 2d exhibitors.

I am unfamiliar with their work and looking forward to seeing it.

The 3d artist for December is Franx Lafavere

In April of 2016 Frankx Lafavere did a Lea Installation called Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor a dark build expressing anxiety, panic disorder. The resulting piece was incredible.

Inara Pey Blogged it here

The Linden Endowment for The Arts blogged it here

I have no idea what Franx Lafavere will share with us at Holly Kai.

He is an incredible Artists and I am sure it will be amazing!

I hope you can join us for the opening Dec 3rd at 12 noon.

This is a formal event so please dress up and be prepared to dance.

Winston Ackland will be performing Live for us !

Winston’s warm heartfelt vibe and wonderful talent is a pleasure in any scene however it is really special to me that he is playing an opening I am part of!

Unconquerable Soul

30833236411_a996bba9d8_b

The Shock and the horror with the news of Americas new President left me in a dark mood feeling helpless. The reality that someone who expressed so vocally hatred for so many could be in the office of highest power in our country seems so hopeless. I feel like we have just jumped back decades in time concerning civil rights. Over the course of the day my mind grasped that we survived the Reagan and all the Bush years. We will survive this too.

Let’s remember our humanity and not succumb to the hate and insults that may seem justified. Hate is never justifiable. Hating the haters only makes it worse. And hating our friends and family for their choices is just… heartbreaking.

I think we need more caring and love in the world. We have to step up for each other. Bigotry and hate in all its forms cannot be allowed to grow. We need to be aware and be a voice in the dark helping to bring back hope and light.

Keep your unconquerable soul alive, do not be afraid together somehow we have to move forward and heal country and ourselves.

Poem Invictus by English poet William Ernest Henley.

Brought to life by Storm Septimus at her LEA build Up through 2016.

Here is your teleport!

30286573784_26b4cd2bb1_b

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

      For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the master of my fate,

I am the captain of my soul.
